Artist Information

Paula studied Calligraphy, Heraldry & Illumination at Art School & worked in those fields professionally for 20 yrs before deciding that Make-up and particularly the world of TV, Theatre & Film was where she wanted to be, especially special effects & character make-ups. Paula attended Brushstroke Make-up School and went on to back that up by studying Hairdressing & Wigmaking at Farnborough College Of Technology. She has worked in the theatre on many local productions, and is following the path of Face Painting, which satisfies her need to create Amazing Faces on children of all ages.

Dragonfly

As a Face Painter, Paula has discovered the delights of helping children of all ages discover their inner monsters; she enjoys the relationship built whilst the face painting is being created, preferring the more complex face paintings where this relationship can progress with the individual being painted, allowing them to blossom into character. She also enjoys the delight of showing the finished creation in the mirror.

In the last few years Paula has branched out into Body Painting, where she has been placed in the top 4 in every competion she has entered, including at the World Body Painting Championships in Austria, Special Effects Category, where she assisted Carolyn Roper to 1st place.

Henna is another of Paula's skills, she has studied henna for a number of years at seminars and now teaches the art regularly, especially on her trips to the FIP Jamvention in Holland.

Paula teaches face painting, body painting & henna, please contact her for details of courses which can be tailored to your individual needs.
